Check out Carla's page.

Took this picture tonight...
she does not like to have her picture taken
and usually turns away.
She is the sweetest dog ever.
Completely carmel filled.

Love ya, big girl.

Puffy heart journaling

The prompt for this week was
PUFFY HEART JOURNALING.
I listed the things that fill me up,
make me happy.

The fabric was from a t-shirt that I really liked,
But the sequins were starting to fall off.
So... Chop!  Chop!

Stuffed my words into the heart and
stitched 'er up!

Check out Carla's page.

For my bestie

A moleskin journal cover
for Kristin
Front cover

Back cover

I love you friend!

It's an interesting process to make something
like this for someone else.
Someone so dear to me.
Someone who isn't as bling loving as me.
I struggled at first.
What to add, what colors to use.
Obsessing.  Too much.

If i am making something for me,
I just make what I like.
What makes me happy.
Lots of color, lots of bling.

Finally I was able to just let go and make what comes from my heart.

Knowing its a part of me that she loves.
Knowing that when its in her bag or in her hands,
she will be reminded how special she is to me
and how much I love color and art
and making lovies with my hands.

And like our friendship,
it will get better with time.

Other pages

So much Dina Wakely 'Art Journal Freedom' inspiration.
At about the same time I got my hands on the book,
I found this hand made journal with very beautiful
hand made papers from India.
Embossed mandala on the leather cover.
No brand name or website...just a beautiful tissue wrap.
 I should've bought 3!!!

So in love with both of these books.

And a few more in process...

your purpose is not to
get to a certain place on the floor.
It's to enjoy each step along the way.

Fabric

The prompt for PLAY
this week is fabric.
That has actually been one of my favorite parts of this project so far.
I am making each page individually,
then putting them into a journal I made out of file folders.

Having this big juicy journal has allowed me to add fabric,
fibers and ribbons without the
thickness constraints of a typical bound journal.
Check put Carla's page!
